Number Line Relay: 1 - 1000

Paper or cards with various numbers from 1 - 1000.
Explanation
Explain to students that they are encouraged to participate in a fun activity where they will make a number line with numbers that go up to 1000.
Divide students into 2 groups.
Ask a volunteer to be number 1 and a volunteer to be number 1000 for each group. Number 1 and 1000 will place themselves at either end of an imaginary number line to start the game.
Next, explain that when they are ready, the first person in line is going to run to the center and pick up a piece of paper with a number from 1-1000 on it. Once they pick up that number, they place themselves where they think they should go on the number line. Once they place themselves on the number line, the next person in line repeats the step. Play continues until all of the numbers have been placed in order on the number lines.
Once all of the students are on a number line, ask them to yell out their numbers in order, starting from lowest to highest. Wait until the last number is called out. If there was a mistake along the way, students work together as a team to figure out where the students should be standing.
